What happened last time RCB met DC in a WPL final?
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals meet in a Women’s Premier League final for the second time on Thursday at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
The last time the two sides met in a WPL summit clash was on March 17, 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. RCB had advanced to the final by beating Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator, while DC had reached the title decider by virtue of finishing as table-topper.
In the WPL 2024 final, Smriti Mandhana-led RCB clinched its maiden title after beating DC by eight wickets. Sophie Molineux was the Player of the Match for her impactful three-wicket haul.
After electing to bat, DC openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning laid the foundation for a strong total with a 64-run stand before Molineux struck thrice in the span of four balls.
Smriti, Ellyse Perry, and Sophie Devine notched up 30+ scores to guide RCB to its first WPL title, and condemn DC to a second consecutive runner-up finish.

In the eighth over, the Australia international first removed Shafali before clean bowling Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey for ducks on consecutive deliveries.
After that, Delhi’s innings never came back on track as RCB spinners continued to rule the roost. Shreyanka Patil took four wickets and Asha Sobhana accounted for two scalps. DC was bowled out for 113 in 18.3 overs.
Despite the likes of Shikha Pandey, Marizanne Kapp, and Capsey bowling economical spells and dragging the chase till the last over, the total wasn’t enough. Smriti, Ellyse Perry, and Sophie Devine notched up 30+ scores to guide RCB to its first WPL title, and condemn DC to a second consecutive runner-up finish.
