Pakistan boycotts India T20 World Cup Latest Updates: PAK PM Sharif explains reason of boycott

Earlier this month, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to release Bangladesh cricketer Mustafizur Rahman from its squad due to political tensions between the two countries.

As a result, an incensed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) tried to have its team’s matches moved out of India due to security fears, but the ICC rejected the request.

Bangladesh then withdrew from the tournament, and Scotland was drafted in as a replacement.
