Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26: Belligerent Saurashtra powers past Punjab to set up Vidarbha final
Vishvarajsinh Jadeja’s stunning 74-ball century led Saurashtra to a thumping nine-wicket victory over Punjab in the semifinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru on Friday.
Saurashtra will now face Vidarbha in the final of the competition at the same venue on Sunday.
Jadeja (165 not out) put on 172 with skipper Harvik Desai to put Saurashtra in control of the 292-run target it required for victory. The pair put on 92 in the PowerPlay, including a 23-run over against Krish Bhagat. Harvik eventually fell for 64, but Prerak Mankad (51 not out) provided Jadeja with company to get the team over the line.
Earlier in the day, Anmolpreet Singh’s century was the standout knock as Punjab reached 291 from its allocation of 50 overs. Anmolpreet and Punjab captain Prabhsimran Singh had led Punjab to a strong position of 200-2 before a late-innings collapse restricted it to 291.
Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of four for 60 including three in his final over.
