Vaibhav Sooryavanshi misses out on half-century again, dismissed for 21 runs against Sri Lanka A
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s search for a maiden India A half-century continued as he was dismissed for 21 runs off 14 balls against Sri Lanka A in the fourth match of the tri-nation series at Dambulla on Monday.
Sooryavanshi, who has registered scores of 14 and 44 in the tournament so far, once again failed to convert his start into a big score. The 15-year-old got his innings off to a flyer as he unleashed a couple of boundaries against Mohammed Shiraz and Chamika Gunasekara.
However, Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige, realising the need for a change in the attack for a breakthrough, brought himself on in the fourth over.
The ploy worked as Sooryavanshi, while attempting a lofted extra cover drive, sliced the ball in the air and was caught to point, bringing an end to his stay at the crease.
