Siraj, KL Rahul, Jadeja among top gainers in latest ICC rankings
A host of India’s experienced stars that starred during the massive victory over West Indies in the first Test in Ahmedabad made significant gains in the latest update to the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.
While pace ace Jasprit Bumrah, who picked three wickets in the match, maintained his lead as the top-ranked bowler in Tests, his partner Mohammed Siraj climbed three spots to 12th overall, and also achieved his career-best ratings. Siraj had taken seven wickets in the series opener against West Indies.
Kuldeep Yadav, India’s lead spinner, rose seven spots to equal 21st after picking four wickets in Ahmedabad.
In the latest rankings for batters, Ravindra Jadeja jumped to the 25th spot overall after his unbeaten century helped him gain six spots. KL Rahul, who scored a century in the first innings in Ahmedabad, gained four places to move to 35th overall.
Jadeja continued to top the rankings for Test all-rounders, while his teammate Washington Sundar rose to 11th as he gained four spots.
