RR vs GT, IPL 2026: Openers, Rashid help Gujarat Titans jump to second in points table
A complete performance from Gujarat Titans helped the visitor comprehensively defeat Rajasthan Royals by 77 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
Batting first, GT posted 229 on the board thanks to half centuries from captain Shubman Gill (84 off 44 balls) and Sai Sudharsan (55 off 36 balls).
RR began its chase well as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cantered Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada to all parts of the park. But the pace bowling duo used the bouncer to good effect to get rid of Sooryvanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the PowerPlay.
Thereafter, it was the Rashid Khan show. The Afghan spinner rolled back the years, taking four wickets to take the life out of the chase for Rajasthan Royals.
With the win, GT moved to second, while RR slumped to its third defeat in a row.
