Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Services bowler Amit Shukla picks 8 wickets in an innings against Haryana
Services bowler Amit Shukla picked eight wickets in an innings against Haryana during their Ranji Trophy 2025-26 round five match in Lahli on Monday.
The left-arm orthodox bowler finished with eight for 27, becoming only the sixth Services player to take eight wickets in an innings. Shukla’s figures, however, are best for a Services bowler.
The 22-year-old, who played Under-19 cricket for Punjab, picked five wickets without conceding a run. He bowled five maidens on the bounce as he completed the fifer.
Haryana, going after Services’ first-innings total of 205, was reduced to 16 for five as a result of Shukla’s effort on the first day. He further dented the opposition on the second day by claiming three wickets.
Haryana was bundled out for 111, conceding a lead of 94 runs. Pulkit Narang picked the remaining two wickets.
Before Shukla, G Inder Dev, GS Shaktawat, SK Porel, VM Muddiah, and Iqbal Karan were the only Services bowlers to pick eight wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy. Inder Dev is the only bowler to achieve the feat twice.
