NZ vs WI T20I series: Motie dropped from West Indies squad


West Indies has dropped left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie from its squad for its upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand. 

In a statement on its website, Cricket West Indies said Motie had been excluded from the squad “following a recent dip in form attributed primarily to a technical issue with his action.” He will now work with the Royals Sports Group to remedy the issue ahead of the upcoming SA20, where he is set to turn out for Paarl Royals.

Meanwhile, Matthew Forde and Shamar Springer return for the tourist, which has suffered several injuries to its seam bowling unit. Jediah Blades, and Ramon Simmonds have all been ruled out of the series with various ailments. 

West Indies comes into the series in good form, having whitewashed Bangladesh away from home in its last assignment. 

The first T20I of the series will be played on November 5 in Auckland.
