Nepal, Oman qualify for ICC T20 World Cup 2026
Oman and Nepal have officially secured their places in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, becoming the 18th and 19th teams to qualify for the tournament.
The two Asian sides clinched their spots following the results of the Super six stage of the T20 World Cup Asia-EAP Regional final, which is currently underway in Muscat.
While Oman and Nepal were already leading the standings, their qualification was sealed after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) decisively beat Samoa by 77 runs. This result effectively solidified the UAE’s command over the remaining qualifying position, which helped confirm the top two teams.

Oman, which appeared in the last T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean, came into the qualifiers as heavy favourites. It has now successfully progressed to the T20 World Cup for the third time, following appearances in 2016 and 2024.
For Nepal, this marks its third World Cup qualification as well, after the 2014 and 2024 editions. Both Nepal and Oman made first-round appearances in the most recent 2024 tournament.
The upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup will be the second consecutive 20-team event, and it is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka between February 6 and March 7.
