The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is yet to announce a replacement, though it had named mystery spinner AM Ghazanfar, batter Ijaz Ahmadzai and seamer Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi in the reserves for the T20 World Cup.
Naveen hasn’t played for his country since December 2024. Though he featured in the SA20 and Major League Cricket (MLC) last year, he was ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a shoulder injury.
