IRE vs ENG, 2nd T20I: Rain leads to match being abandoned without a ball bowled
The second Twenty20 cricket match between host Ireland and England was abandoned on Friday without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain on the Irish coast.
It was disappointing news for a sell-out crowd of around 4,500 fans inside the Malahide Cricket Club.

England will take a 1-0 lead in the final game of the series, which will also be at Malahide on Sunday.
In the first T20I, England won the toss and chose to bowl. Ireland’s Harry Tector remained unbeaten on 61 and, along with Lorcan Tucker (55), helped Ireland post a respectable total of 196/3 at the end of 20 overs.
However, Opener Phil Salt’s explosive 89 runs helped England to a four-wicket win with 14 balls remaining in the first T20 on Wednesday.
