India and Pakistan will face off in a high-voltage T20 World Cup 2026 clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.

But, the marquee game is under threat of being disrupted by rain. Sri Lanka’s meteorology department had issued a warning for a low-pressure system to develop in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal around February 15, which is expected to bring in unseasonal rains.

BBC’s weather forecast predicts Colombo to be hit by heavy rains through the morning and afternoon until 4:30 PM (local time) and then for it slow down into light rains.

With the India vs Pakistan match set to start at 7 PM, there is a probability that the toss will be delayed and will likely affect the playing time.

But, the Premadasa Stadium is also famous for its efficient drainage system, with the whole ground being placed under covers during rains.
