India ‘A’ squad for multi-day matches in Sri Lanka: Dhruv Jurel named captain, Auqib Nabi included


Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel was named captain of the India ‘A’ team, which will play two multi-day matches in Sri Lanka between June 25 and July 5.

Devdutt Padikkal has been appointed Jurel’s deputy for the two games, while Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi has been included in the 15-member squad.

Left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan, middle-order batter Ruturaj Gaikwad and pacer Anshul Kamboj are the other squad members with some experience at the international level.

The first four-day game will begin on June 25 in Galle before the same venue hosts the following match, starting on July 2.

The two-match series against Sri Lanka ‘A’ will serve as preparation for India’s two-match Test series in the island nation, set to be played in August.
