IND vs SA, Women’s World Cup final: Deepti Sharma breaks record for most wickets in an edition by an Indian


Deepti Sharma broke the record for the most wickets picked in a single edition during the Women’s World Cup 2025 final against South Africa in Navi Mumbau on Sunday.

The off-spinner picked five wickets in the summit clash to take her tally in 2025 to 22 wickets, eclipsing the record of 20 held by Neetu David and Shubhangi Kulkarni.

Deepti picked the key wickets of centurion Laura Wolvaardt and followed it up by trapping Chloe Tryon in front to get to the landmark. Annerie Dercksen, Nadine de Klerk and Sinalo Jafta were her other scalps.
