IND vs SA, Women’s World Cup final 2025: Laura Wolvaardt scores hundred against India
Laura Wolvaardt scored a century for South Africa against India in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2024 final at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
The South African skipper registered her eleventh ODI hundred and her second against India in the chase after India posted 298 for seven.
Wolvaardt also became the second player in history to score back-to-back hundreds in the knockout rounds of the ODI World Cup after Alyssa Healy.
The skipper scored 169 in the semifinal against England to help the team post a mammoth 319 for seven against the four-time champions.
The opening batter stitched up fifty-run partnerships with Tazmin Brits, Sune Luus and Annerie Dercksen to keep South Africa in the hunt for its first World Cup title.
She was eventually dismissed for 101 of 98 with the team needing 79 off 53 balls.
