IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026: Match Date, Venue, History
India will face Pakistan on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo after the ICC confirmed the full schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup on Tuesday.
Pakistan will play all its group-stage matches in Sri Lanka under the existing agreement between the PCB and BCCI, which mandates neutral venues when either nation hosts a multi-team ICC event. The arrangement remains in place for the knockout phase as well. If Pakistan qualifies for the final, that fixture too will be staged in Sri Lanka.
The last time the two sides met at a T20 World Cup, in New York in 2024, India edged a tense low-scoring thriller by six runs. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-defining spell of 3 for 14, flipping a modest Indian total into a defendable one on a sluggish surface. That result reinforced India’s dominance in World Cup meetings. In T20 World Cups alone, India has won seven of the nine fixtures between the teams, with one no result.
