IND vs NZ: Shivam Dube smashes third-fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is

Shivam Dube smashed the third-fastest half-century by an Indian in T20 Internationals during the fourth T20I against New Zealand in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Dube reached his fifty off just 15 balls with a six over deep backward square-leg off a full toss bowled by pacer Jacob Duffy. The left-hander was adjudged leg-before off the previous delivery, but Dube got the umpire’s decision overturned on review after the replays confirmed he had got an inside edge.

In the previous over, Dube had smoked leg-spinner Ish Sodhi for two fours and three sixes to inject momentum into India’s dwindling chase.

Among Indians, only Yuvraj Singh (12 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (15 balls) have hit T20I fifties in fewer balls than Dube. Hardik Pandya’s 16-ball half-century against South Africa late last year is the fourth-fastest on the list.
