IND vs AUS: Smriti Mandhana becomes second Indian to reach 5000 runs in women’s ODIs


Opener Smriti Mandhana reached 5000 runs in One-Day Internationals on Sunday during India’s Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match against Australia.

The left-hander scored a half-century at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, her first of the ongoing tournament. She smacked Kim Garth for a six over long off to reach the milestone. She also became the youngest and quickest player to do so.

Smriti also became the second Indian to reach this milestone in women’s ODIs — former India captain Mithali Raj has 7805 runs to her name and currently is the top-scorer in the format’s history.
