IND schedule for U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup: India to open campaign against USA


India will open its ICC Men’s U-19 World Cup campaign against the USA, with the tournament to be staged in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6.

The competition will have 16 teams divided into groups of four in the first stage, with a total of 41 matches to be played over 23 days.

India is in Group A alongside the USA, Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Group B has Zimbabwe, Pakistan, England and Scotland, whereas Group C will have defending champion Australia, Ireland, Japan and Sri Lanka.

The fourth and final Group D consists of debutants Tanzania, the West Indies, Afghanistan and South Africa.

The ICC announced the tournament’s schedule on its website on Wednesday. The event marks a return for Japan, which had featured in the 2020 edition.

INDIA SCHEDULE AT U-19 WORLD CUP

India vs USA – January 15 (Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo).

India vs Bangladesh – January 17 (Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo).

India vs New Zealand – January 24(Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo).

Top three ranked sides from the first round will take part in the Super Six stage, with these teams forming two groups of six each.

“The knockout stage will follow, comprising two semi-finals and a final. Reserve days are available for these three games,” the ICC said.
