Hong Kong Sixes: India stunned by Kuwait, UAE and Nepal, fails to make quarterfinals
India lost all three matches on Saturday in the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes and failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the tournament taking place in Mong Kok.
After it lost to Kuwait in its final group stage match by 27 runs — thereby failing to make the knockouts — India was stunned by UAE (by four wickets) and Nepal (by 92 runs) while competing in Bowl fixtures.
India’s only win in the tournament so far came against Pakistan where it won by two runs (by DLS method) in a rain-affected match.
What is the format for Hong Kong Sixes 2025?
The group stage of the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 will follow a single round-robin format, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the quarterfinals. From there, the competition will shift to a single-match knockout stage. Teams that do not qualify for the main-draw knockouts will compete in bowl and plate fixtures to determine their final standings.
