Haryana beats Delhi by six wickets to clinch Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy Elite title
Haryana beat Delhi by six wickets to clinch the Women’s Under-23 T20 Trophy Elite title played at the Gujarat College Cricket Ground in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 155, Haryana reached the total with over two overs to spare.
Captain Sonia Mendhiya and Tanisha Ohlan scored 36 runs each while openers Tanishka Sharma and Deeya Yadav also chipped in with 30 and 33 runs respectively.
Tanisha Singh’s three wickets in the middle weren’t enough for Haryana to break sweat as Komal Bicion and Jyoti Yadav completed the chase comfortably.
Earlier, openers Deeksha and Shivi Sharma gave Delhi a good start before Jyoti scalped three to restrict the opposition to 154 for seven.
Shivi top-scored with 56 off 49 balls while Deeksha hit 36 runs off 25 balls. Tanisha also added 31 runs but her all-round contribution wasn’t enough for Delhi push Haryana on the backfoot.
