Dewald Brevis ruled out of South Africa’s ODI series against Pakistan due to shoulder injury
South African batter Dewald Brevis was ruled out of his side’s three-match ODI series against Pakistan, starting on Tuesday, after suffering a shoulder injury.
South Africa confirmed the injury update through a statement on social media.
“He sustained the shoulder injury during the third T20 International at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday. Brevis will undergo rehabilitation with the Proteas Men’s medical team in Pakistan in preparation for the upcoming Test tour of India. His replacement for the ODI series will be announced in due course,” read the statement.
Brevis’ absence will be a huge hit for the South African side, which is already without the services of Aiden Markram and Kagiso Rabada, who were rested for the series, while pacers Kwena Maphaka and Anrich Nortje are out injured.
