Deepti Sharma records best bowling figures by an Indian in Women’s T20 World Cup history


India all-rounder Deepti Sharma entered the history books during the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Pakistan on Sunday.

With her five-wicket haul, Deepti recorded the best-ever figures by an Indian in the history of the T20 showpiece. Her 5/10 bettered Renuka Singh Thaku’s 5/15, which she had recorded against England during the 2023 edition.

The best bowling figures in the history of the T20 World Cup is in the name of West Indies’ Deandra Dottin and her 5/5 in 3.4 overs against Bangladesh in 2018.

Deepti accounted for the wickets of Gull Feroza, Ayesha Zafar, Aliya Riaz, Nashra Sandhu, and Tasmia Rubab.
