Bayern exploring surprise Ngumoha move ahead of teenager’s potential England debut
Bayern Munich are said to be exploring a move for Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha.
Ngumoha burst onto the scene for Reds this season, making 29 appearances in all competitions.
Though he scored only two goals, including a spectacular winner in a 3-2 victory over Newcastle United last August, Ngumoha’s promise as a pacy winger with the ability to cut in off both flanks was clear for all to see.
And it appears he has caught the eye of Bayern, with David Ornstein of The Athletic reporting that the Bundesliga champions are exploring a move for the 17-year-old.
No contact has been made between the clubs, and Liverpool have no desire to sell Ngumoha.
Bayern’s interest comes with Ngumoha potentially set to make his England debut this weekend.
Ngumoha was one of five supplementary players who travelled to England’s pre-World Cup camp in Florida.
The Three Lions will face New Zealand in a friendly in Tampa on Saturday, and Ngumoha is eligible to feature.
