AUS vs SL, Women’s ODI World Cup 2025: Australia vs Sri Lanka match abandoned due to heavy rain in Colombo

The Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match between Australia and Sri Lanka, which was scheduled to be held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday, was abandoned without a ball bowled due to heavy rains.

The match toss also wasn’t held as the teams shared points.

Australia, now at the top of the standings, opened its campaign with a dominant 89-run win against its Trans-Tasman neighbour New Zealand. Sri Lanka, one of the co-hosts of the tournament, began its campaign with a 59-run loss to India in a rain-truncated match.

India is scheduled to play Pakistan in a much-awaited clash on Sunday at the Premadasa stadium and it remains to be seen how the weather pans out.

The Aussies will next face Pakistan on October 8 while the Sri Lankans will play England on October 11.
