Ajinkya Naik re-elected as Mumbai Cricket Association president
Ajinkya Naik was reelected as Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president unopposed on Monday.
The incumbent MCA chief was among the eight candidates who earlier filed their nomination papers for the post ahead of the elections.
Interestingly, Naik filed his papers despite having completed six consecutive years in the MCA Apex Council, which makes him subject to a mandatory cooling-off period under the Supreme Court-directed Lodha Committee reforms applicable to all state cricket associations.
In 2024, Naik became the youngest MCA president at 37 after defeating former vice-president Sanjay Naik by a whopping margin of 107 votes.
