No Marsh, No Head: Australia Forced Into Major Squad Shake-Up for Bangladesh Tour
Captain Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head have been ruled out of Australia’s three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, with Josh Inglis set to lead the side.
The duo had also missed Australia’s 2-1 ODI series defeat to Pakistan last week. Marsh continues to recover from an ankle injury, while Head has been granted personal leave.
Leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha will also miss the Bangladesh series after suffering a hamstring injury during the second ODI against Pakistan.
Marsh will nevertheless travel to Bangladesh and is expected to continue his rehabilitation with a view to returning for the subsequent T20I series.

Teenage batter Ollie Peake and all-rounder Matt Short, who were originally scheduled to return home after the Pakistan tour, will remain with the squad. Off-spinner Todd Murphy, who has played seven Tests for Australia but is yet to make his limited-overs international debut, has been drafted in as Sangha’s replacement.
“Unfortunately, Tanveer Sangha sustained a hamstring injury during the second ODI against Pakistan and will take no further part in the tour,” national selector Tony Dodemaide said.
“We were hopeful Mitch Marsh would be available for the Bangladesh ODI series; however, he is still returning to full fitness from an ankle injury.
“Travis was initially selected in the ODI and T20I legs of this Bangladesh tour but has subsequently been granted personal leave for both.”
