Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26: Rohit Sharma not included in Mumbai squad for first few matches

India internationals Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube have not been included in Mumbai’s squad for the initial games of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

However, with the BCCI advising all the India players to mandatorily feature in the domestic tournament when not on national duty, they are likely to join the squad in Jaipur in the second half of the group league phase.

“As of now, we have not heard from Rohit and the others officially, so we decided to include four young cricketers in the squad. But we are hopeful that all the India players will play in the tournament, and as and when they are available, they will be accommodated,” MCA chief selector Sanjay Patil told  Sportstar.

While Suryakumar and Dube are busy on national duty, Jaiswal is recovering from acute gastroenteritis. It is believed that after a few days of rest, Jaiswal will travel to Jaipur and be available for the last four or five games.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane could be rested for the initial phase, and is expected to travel to Jaipur for the second leg of the tournament.

The team will travel to Jaipur on Sunday.
