India vs Australia, World Cup semifinal: India completes highest successful chase in World Cup knockout match

India completed the highest chase in a World Cup knockout match (men’s or women’s) when it hauled down 339 against Australia in Navi Mumbai to secure a place in the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

It reached the total courtesy of an unbeaten 127 from Jemimah Rodrigues, along with a blistering 89 from skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.

The record was previously held by New Zealand, which hauled down 299 against South Africa during the semifinal of the Men’s ODI World Cup 2015.

The chase is also the highest in the history of Women’s ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 330 that Australia chased down in the pair’s meeting earlier in the tournament.

As a result of this victory, India has confirmed its place in a home final against South Africa on Sunday.
