WI vs SA, T20 World Cup 2026: Markram’s bruising fifty leads South Africa to comfortable win over West Indies
Aiden Markram’s bruising half-century as South Africa put one foot in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2026 with a thumping nine-wicket victory over West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The South African bowling attack started well as it reduced to Windies to 83 for seven in the eleventh over. However, Jason Holder and Romario Shepherd added 89 in no time to rescue the innings and push their side to a respectable total of 176 for eight in its 20 overs.
However, that total would look vastly insufficient after a blistering opening stand of 95 from Markram and Quinton de Kock blew the West Indies attack out of the water.
