Who is G. Trisha, who went to UP Warriorz for Rs. 10 lakh?

Youngster G. Trisha went to UP Warriorz for Rs. 10 lakh at the WPL Auction 2026 on Thursday in New Delhi.

Trisha is one of Indian cricket’s rare early bloomers. Still only 19, she has already packed a lifetime of milestones into a fledgling career. Earlier this year, she created history at the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup by becoming the first player to score a century in the tournament’s history, underlining her rise from prodigy to headline-maker.

Trisha’s journey began at just nine when she turned out for Hyderabad’s U-16 state team in the 2014–15 season. The following year, she broke into the State U-23 side and soon after represented both Hyderabad and South Zone at the U-19 level. She also featured in the 2023 U-19 World Cup in South Africa.

A product of the famed St. John’s Coaching Foundation in Hyderabad, which shaped VVS Laxman and Mithali Raj, Trisha was spotted for her fearless strokeplay and natural timing. Her first coach, P. Srinivas, recalls resisting any urge to tinker with her batting basics, only nudging her towards leg-spin as a secondary skill.
