Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma shine – Here’s how other India players performed in VHT Round 1


The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) premier List A tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, kicked off on Wednesday with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma notching up centuries.

The two veterans, who have retired from the T20I and Test formats, contributed in their teams’ victories. Delhi defeated Andhra by four wickets while Mumbai eased past Sikkim by eight wickets.

Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel and Abhishek Sharma were among the others who played the opening round. Under-19 sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi cracked 190 off just 84 balls for Bihar against Arunachal Pradesh.

Ishan Kishan, on the high of winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with Jharkhand and getting a call-up in India’s T20 World Cup squad, also struck a century off just 33 balls.
