Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-2026: Shreyas Iyer slams 53-ball 82 on return from injury
Shreyas Iyer’s return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy turned out to be a success as he scored a 53-ball 82 for Mumbai against Himachal Pradesh at the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground in Jaipur on Tuesday.
Shreyas’ innings included 10 fours and three sixes.
Following the dismissals of openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan, Mumbai was reduced to 55/2 in the eighth over. However, Shreyas and Musheer Khan added 82 runs off 54 balls to keep the scoreboard ticking.
After Musheer fell for a 51-ball 73, which included eight fours and three sixes, Shreyas built a 50-plus partnership yet again. The 31-year-old forged a 39-ball 65-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav as Mumbai crossed the 200-run mark.
