Tottenham confirm the death of Igor Tudor’s father
Tottenham have confirmed interim coach Igor Tudor’s father has died.
Tudor skipped the post-match media duties after Spurs’ 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest yesterday due to a family bereavement and it was confirmed this afternoon that his father Mario had passed away.
A club statement read: “Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Igor Tudor’s father, Mario.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Igor and his family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Tudor’s Tottenham finding the going tough
Tudor’s time at Tottenham has not been easy with the club failing to win in the league with him in charge. Indeed, Spurs have not won a domestic game this calendar year.
They head into the international break fourth bottom in the Premier League, a point ahead of West Ham, who occupy the final place in the relegation zone.
Forest’s win in North London saw them leapfrog Spurs and move up to 16th with all the teams having seven games left to play.
Tottenham’s next fixture is on April 12 at Sunderland.
