Tilak Varma cleared to play T20 World Cup 2026 warm-ups: Reports
India’s top-order batter Tilak Varma will reportedly be available for India’s warm-up games before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, after receiving clearance from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE).
The Hyderabad batter has been out of action for nearly a month after he underwent a surgery for an abdominal injury suffered during the Ranji Trophy last month. He missed the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, with Ishan Kishan replacing him at No. 3.
India is slated to play two warm-up games before starting its title defence, facing the United States of America (USA) at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on February 2 and South Africa on February 4.
Tilak will be available for both.
India starts its World Cup campaign against USA on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
