Pakistan secured its spot in the Super Eights phase of the T20 World Cup 2026 after a resounding 102-run victory over Namibia at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Wednesday, February 18.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Sahibzada Farhan (100 not out, 58b) scored an unbeaten century as Pakistan racked up an imposing 199 for four in its 20 overs. Farhan’s century was well supported by breezy knocks from skipper Salman Ali Agha (38, 23b) and Shadab Khan (36 not out, 22b).
Namibia lost regular wickets as its chase never got off the ground, and it ultimately finished on 97 all out. Usman Tariq was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of four for 16.
Victory assured Pakistan of a spot in the Super Eights, where it will be in a group with co-host Sri Lanka, England, and New Zealand. Its Super Eights campaign will begin against New Zealand on Saturday, February 21.
