Sumit Nagal enters Tulln Quarter-Final

3 September, 2025 – Tulln, Austria: India’s top-ranked men’s tennis player, Sumit Nagal, continued his impressive run at the ATP 100 Tulln Challenger in Austria, advancing to the quarter-finals with back-to-back straight sets victories.
Nagal, ranked No. 293 in the world, opened his campaign with a solid 6-4, 6-2 win over Croatia’s Mili Poljicak (304) in the first round. He backed it up with another commanding performance, defeating Romania’s Filip Cristian Jianu (267) 6-3, 6-4 in the Round of 16.
This marks Nagal’s third quarter-final appearance of the season, showcasing renewed consistency on the ATP Challenger Tour. He will now face 19-year-old Austrian rising star Joel Schwaerzler (262), a former Junior World No. 1, in the quarter-final clash on Friday.
Nagal will be eyeing a deep run in Tulln as he continues to rebuild his ranking and push towards the ATP Top 200 and beyond.
