SMAT 2025: Who is Shivam Shukla, the mystery spinner who starred for Madhya Pradesh vs Andhra?
Mystery spinner Shivam Shukla starred for Madhya Pradesh with a four-wicket haul against Andhra in a Super League match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy on Friday.
With his quickish action and stump-to-stump line, the 30-year-old Shivam finished with figures of 4/23 from his four overs, which included a three-wicket maiden.
With this, Shivam’s wicket tally in the ongoing SMAT 2025 swelled to 13 from eight games, with an impressive economy of 6.55.
Shivam was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025 after he was picked by the side as an injury replacement for West Indian all-rounder Rovman Powell.
Shivam rose to the spotlight after his performance in the inaugural edition of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League, where he took 10 wickets, including a fifer, to win the purple cap.
In the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he took eight wickets in as many matches for Madhya Pradesh, including a four-wicket haul against Saurashtra.
His exploits impressed scouts from Sunrisers Hyderabad, who roped him in as a net-bowler for the 2025 season, before he was picked by KKR.
Shivam was released by KKR after IPL 2025 and has been shortlisted for the upcoming IPL 2026 auction, where he will be part of the USP1 set (uncapped Indian spinners).
