Shapovalov Overpowers Basavareddy in ATP 500 Acapulco Opener
ACAPULCO, Mexico – Denis Shapovalov overcame a slow start and a pre-match delay to defeat rising American talent Nishesh Basavareddy 7-5, 6-2 in the first round of the ATP 500 Mexican Open on Tuesday.
The match, held under the lights in Acapulco, saw Basavareddy, a promising young player, challenge the experienced Canadian early on.
