Scottish Lassie Runs Away With CCA Oaks

Scottish Lassie  could not be beat in the $500,000 Coaching Club American Oaks Invitational Stakes (G1) July 19 at Saratoga Race Course, taking the field gate to wire for a dominating 15 1/2-length victory.

Trained by co-owner Jorge Abreu for Sportsmen Stable, Parkland Thoroughbreds, Photos Finish, and Corms Racing Stable, Scottish Lassie defeated 3-5 favorite and 2024 champion 2-year-old filly Immersive , who had to settle for second.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Scottish Lassie stopped the clock in 1:50.23 for the 1 1/8 miles on a fast main track, paying $6.70 to win.

The CCA Oaks was the second grade 1 win for the 3-year-old daughter of McKinzie  , who captured last year’s Frizette Stakes (G1).
