Runners-Up Finish for Tanisha Kashyap & Andrea Roots at ITF W15 Sharm El-Sheikh

Tanisha Kashyap / Andrea Roots

Tanisha Kashyap and Andrea Roots put together a strong doubles run at the ITF W15 Sharm El-Sheikh, reaching the final before going down to the American pair of Ava Hrastar and Victoria Mulville.

Kashyap and Roots opened their campaign against Bulgaria’s Yoana Moneva and Slovakia’s Vanesa Salaiova, winning 6-2, 6-1 in a confident first-round display.

The quarterfinal was a different story. Facing Ukraine’s Kateryna Diatlova and Denmark’s Sarafina Olivia Hansen, Kashyap and Roots dropped the second set after a strong start in the first, then held their nerve in a tight match tiebreak, edging it 10-8 to advance.

The semifinal brought an intriguing matchup, with Kashyap facing fellow Indian Madhurima Sawant, who partnered with China’s Shiyu Ye. The Indo-Estonian pair handled it well, winning 6-2, 6-4 to book their place in the final.

In the final, Hrastar and Mulville edged a close opening set in a tiebreak 7-6(5) and carried that momentum into the second, taking it 6-2 to claim the title.

For Tanisha, this result marks her second ITF doubles final — and the first of 2026 — a promising result that shows real potential on the doubles court.
