RCB vs CSK, IPL 2026: Will Dewald Brevis play for Chennai Super Kings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru?
Chennai Super Kings will be on the hunt for a first win of IPL 2026 as it takes on defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
CSK will be hoping for some positive news on the injury front as it awaits an update on South African batter Dewald Brevis.
Brevis had suffered a side injury during training and missed CSK’s defeats against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
“Brevis is out. He had a side injury during training. He is rehabing. Hopefully, won’t be [out] for too long,” head coach Stephen Fleming said ahead of the game against RR.
Brevis was signed by CSK as an injury replacement last season. He went onto score 225 runs at a strike-rate of 180 in the six matches he played and was retained by the five-time champion.
CSK hasn’t officially given any update regarding Brevis’ fitness. The South African practised ahead of the previous fixture against Punjab Kings, but it remains to be seen if he takes the field versus RCB.
