Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Services’ Arjun Sharma, Mohit Jangra take hat-tricks against Assam
Services players Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra picked a hat-trick apiece during the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match against Assam at Tinsukia District Sports Association Ground in Tinsukia on Saturday.
Left-arm spinner Arjun claimed the wickets of Riyan Parag, Sumit Ghadigaonkar, and Sibsankar Roy in consecutive deliveries to achieve this feat.
Jangra then picked three in a row across two overs to remove half-centurion Pradyun Saikia, Mukhtar Hussain and Bhargab Pratim Lahkar to skittle Assam out for 103 in 17.2 overs.
Assam had got off to a horrid start, losing two wickets in three overs to off-spinner Pulkit Narang. After a steady start, Riyan and Pradyun Saikia put up a 40-run partnership for the third wicket.
Parag fell for 36 in the fourth ball of Arjun’s over, with the next two batters following back to the pavilion off consecutive balls.
The last cricketer to pick a hat-trick in the Ranji Trophy was Shardul Thakur, who picked three in three for Mumbai against Meghalaya in January 2025.
