Ranji Trophy 2025-26: List of milestones and records broken during Round 4 fixtures


Another round of Ranji Trophy fixtures came to a close on Tuesday, with many sides securing crucial points in the hunt for a spot in the knockouts.

In and amongst the action, multiple milestones and records were broken. Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar Chaudhury scored the fastest First-Class half-century ever, hitting eight consecutive sixes in the process.

Here is a list of the milestones and records broken during the fourth round of Ranji Trophy fixtures:

  • Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar Choudhury scored the fastest First-Class century in history against Arunachal Pradesh, reaching the landmark in 11 deliveries. He also hit eight consecutive sixes. 
  • Jammu and Kashmir secured its first-ever victory over Delhi as it won by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
  • In the same match, Jammu and Kashmir opener Qamran Iqbal (133 not out) scored his first First-Class century. 
  • Tripura’s Vijay Shankar (150 not out) recorded his highest-ever First-Class score, against Assam.
  • Bengal’s Shahbaz Ahmed (seven for 56) recorded his best First-Class bowling figures, against Railways.
  • Tamil Nadu’s B. Sachin (51) scored his maiden First-Class fifty, against Andhra. 
  • Chhattisgarh’s Mayank Verma (121 not out) scored his maiden First-Class century, against Pondicherry. 
  • UP’s Madhav Kaushik (185 not out) and Shivam Mavi (101 not out) both scored their maiden First-Class centuries, against Nagaland.
  • Kerala’s Varun Nayanar (66 not out) scored his maiden First-Class fifty, against Saurashtra.
  • Nikhil Thakur (64) of Chandigarh scored his first First-Class fifty, against Punjab.
  • Hyderabad’s Rahul Radesh (129) raised his highest First-Class score, against Rajasthan.
