Ranji Trophy 2025-26: Abhinav Tejrana scores double century on First-Class debut for Goa

Abhinav Tejrana scored a double century on his First-Class debut for Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match against Chandigarh at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground in Porvorim on Thursday.

The 24-year-old reached the milestone off 301 balls after the home side won the toss and opted to bat first. He became the first Goan batter to score a double century on First-Class debut, and only the 13th Indian ever to achieve the feat.

Tejrana scored 205 off 320 balls, hitting 21 fours and four sixes, before his 309-run stand for the fourth wicket with Lalit Yadav came to an end — just one run short of Goa’s record for the fourth wicket, held by Rahul Keni and Ajay Ratra.

Sakibul Gani of Bihar holds the record for the highest score on First-Class debut, having scored 341 against Mizoram in the 2021-22 season.
