Priyansh Arya hits 82-ball hundred as India A takes on Australia A in 1st unofficial ODI
Priyansh Arya smashed an 82-ball century during the first unofficial ODI between India A and Australia A at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Wednesday.
Arya’s attacking innings featured 11 fours and five sixes before he fell two balls later, attempting to hit Tanveer Sangha down the ground but finding the fielder at long-off.
The opener added 135 runs for the first wicket off just 123 deliveries in partnership with Prabhsimran Singh after Australia A put the host into bat.
The 24-year-old began his innings with a cut shot in the opening over and continued to take on the bowlers at will, driving anything overpitched or wide. He struck the first six of the match off Sam Elliot, pulling him over the deep square-leg boundary.
Todd Murphy had started well, but Arya quickly seized control, hitting the off-spinner for three boundaries in a single over. He reached his half-century in 60 balls and then accelerated, bringing up his hundred in the next 22 deliveries.
