KKR’s Akash Deep ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury — reports
Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Akash Deep was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 due to an injury.
According to Cricbuzz, Akash has still not reported to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) camp as he’s undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The nature of injury is still not determined.
Akash was recruited by KKR for Rs. 1 crore at the mini auction.
The 29-year-old fast bowler is the third pacer after Harshit Rana and Matheesha Pathirana to get injured ahead of the season. While Rana is unlikely to feature for the entirety of the season, Sri Lanka’s Pathirana is awaiting fitness clearance by the home board.
As of now, KKR only has Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi, Blessing Muzarabani, and Umran Malik in its rank as designated fast bowlers.
