Jemimah Rodrigues falls for 15-ball 11 during Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers WBBL game

Jemimah Rodrigues was dismissed for an 11 off 15 balls during Brisbane Heat’s WBBL fixture against Perth Scorchers in Brisbane on Wednesday. She had made a nine-ball six against Melbourne Renegades in the last game.

The India batter, who represents the Heat in WBBL, was part of the squad that won the Women’s ODI World Cup last month, defeating South Africa in the final in Navi Mumbai.

Three weeks into her maiden ODI World Cup, Jemimah found herself out of the playing eleven after two ducks and a couple of modest thirties. When the recall finally came, she made it count. Promoted to No. 3, Rodrigues struck a fluent 76 not out off 55 balls against New Zealand. Then came the majestic 127 not out in the semifinal, as India pulled off a record chase to knock Australia out of the competition.

By the end of the tournament, Jemimah had amassed 292 runs at an average of nearly 60 and a strike rate of 100.

Jemimah was recently retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of this year’s WPL auction.
