IND vs SA: Is Senuran Muthusamy an Indian?
South Africa all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy on Sunday notched up his maiden Test century during his side’s second match against India at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Playing just his eighth Test, Muthusamy reached the milestone in 192 balls. Muthusamy’s previous best was an unbeaten 89, which he scored against Pakistan in Rawalpindi earlier this year.
The 31-year-old hails from the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa, and made his Test debut against India in 2019 at Visakhapatnam. Notably, Muthusamy’s maiden Test wicket was Virat Kohli. However, being a left-arm orthodox, he’s not enjoyed a consistent run in the team due to Keshav Maharaj.
Though Muthusamy was born in Durban, he has familial connection to India. His father hails from Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu.
