IND vs SA: Gautam Gambhir win/loss record in Tests as head coach so far
India endured its second home Test series defeat under head coach Gautam Gambhir as South Africa completed a 2-0 clean sweep at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Gambhir took over as India’s head coach in July 2024. Since then, India have won seven Tests, lost 10 and drawn two. Across six completed series under him, India has won two, both at home, lost three, including two at home, and drawn one.
India has now suffered two series sweep defeats at home under Gambhir. It lost 0-3 to New Zealand in 2024 and now conceded a 0-2 reverse to the Proteas. In the last six decades, this is the first time India has lost five of the last seven Tests at home.
